Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province is expected to bring in more young talent from 2022 to 2025, according to a work plan recently published by local government.
Starting from 2022, the city will introduce no less than 120,000 new employees every year. By the end of 2025, the total number of new employees should amount to 650,000.
According to the plan, Nantong will create more job opportunities in sectors including advanced manufacturing industry and emerging services.
With government support, more than 2,000 companies are expected to offer no less than 200,000 jobs to graduates. These companies will also organize job fairs at 100 universities each year from 2022 to 2025.
Nantong-born graduates will be encouraged to find jobs back to their hometowns while graduates from other cities studying in Nantong will be encouraged to take on internships in Nantong and stay in the city.
Nantong will build residential communities exclusively for young talent, who will also enjoy priority when purchasing their first home in the city.
The city will set up 24-hour libraries and free fitness rooms as well as bring in more fashionable exhibitions to satisfy the demands of young people.
With the help of local companies, vocational colleges and training institutions, Nantong will also establish a system to provide skills training and improvement and entrepreneurship classes to cultivate skilled professionals.
