Chongchuan further streamlines online business registrations
The Chongchuan district of Nantong city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is understood to be moving to streamline its online business registrations, in an initiative expected to further boost efficiency and economic growth.
One of the early beneficiaries is Nantong Mengya Electromechanical Equipment Co Ltd, which obtained prompt approval after it submitted an application on Feb 23 for a change of its location to the district's administrative approval bureau, through the Jiangsu government service website.
It is the first company in Nantong to complete change of enterprise information registration by online means, marking a turning point, where Chongchuan has expanded its electronic registration service to the field of company information changes.
For the company, this couldn't have come sooner. The legal representative of Mengya was stuck in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region due to the severe COVID-19 situation there and it was laborious and time-consuming to send back and forth the paper application materials. This made the agent of the company despair that he would ever be able to complete the location change.
Unexpectedly, following guidance from a staff member at the Chongchuan district administrative approval bureau, he obtained the new business license through three methods – submitting an application on the Jiangsu government service website, using facial recognition and an electronic signature.

Not surprisingly, the agent praised the new initiative. "It doesn't need the attendance of a legal representative and any paper material. Typing words into the computer and having your face recognized by the phone can finish the process, which takes less than an hour," he added.
In early February, Chongchuan announced that it would introduce a series of measures to improve its business environment this year. That's led the administrative approval bureau to actively promote customers going online, to cover all the areas of business registration.
