Taking in marvelous lantern shows and guessing lantern riddles are wonderful and enduring traditions of the Lantern Festival – which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month, on Feb 15 this year.

A garden party will be held on Feb 15 at the Yiyuan Garden, located by the Haohe River in the Chongchuan district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, from 7 pm to 9 pm, to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

Hundreds of lantern riddles are prepared for the visitors. After solving a riddle, the visitors can draw a small gift.

Lanterns are an essential decoration of the festival and exquisite examples are positioned on the site for the evening, to create a lively and joyous atmosphere.

In order to let the locals fully savor the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, stalls selling marshmallows, tomatoes on sticks and sugar paintings that are always popular with children are set up at the event.
