Qidong, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, held its very first Year of the Tiger job fair at the city's human resources market on Feb 8.
In order to aid enterprises in their recruitment difficulties and assist job seekers in their employment dilemmas, the Qidong human resources and social security bureau made a plan to hold a job fair before the Spring Festival.
Focusing on guiding migrant workers to remain in Qidong for work, the bureau sent specialized text messages to those who returned to Qidong through big data analysis. It also hung job vacancy posters at 399 different advertising bulletins in the city.
With a survey conducted on labor demand of over 1,200 enterprises in Qidong, the human resources and social security department selected 53 firms to participate in the fair who provided more than 1,500 jobs.
A few thousand job seekers attended the fair where 552 of them got hired on the spot.
