Cao learned how to make bonsai from Yuan Hua, who established the Nantong-style Bonsai Park in the city in 2021 with the Nantong Vocational College of Science and Technology. The park has a collection of more than 2,000 bonsai and a workshop for students to try making their own bonsai.
