Diehu Park, located in the new urban area of Qidong – a county level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – opened to the public on New Year's Day after its full completion.
In 2018, a section of the park was opened, while in July 2020, work on the remainder of the park began. After full completion, Diehu Park now covers 138 hectares, with the water area occupying 53 ha, making it the largest park in Qidong.
There are seven facilities in the park, including a bookstore and space for rest. Huang Kai, deputy general manager of contractors Qidong New City Landscaping Co Ltd, said a soccer field, as well as basketball, badminton and tennis courts, covering some 8,000 square meters, have now been added.
As a result, Diehu Park has become an attractive and popular venue that combines leisure, amusement and fitness.
In addition, various plants – including gingko trees, campho trees and bamboo – are being grown along the roads in the park, to showcase a variety of landscapes during the four seasons.
A 330-meter-long overpass connecting the northern and southern parts of the park is a highlight. Standing on the structure, visitors can get a panorama view of the park.
