Rugao Silk Tapestry Art Museum to offer free admission
The Rugao Silk Tapestry Art Museum in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, will begin offering free admission to the public starting Jan 1, 2022.
The museum was established in 2002 and is the first silk tapestry art museum in China.

Rugao silk tapestry features color separation and color matching via unique hand-knotted methods, ensuring that the tapestry fully shows the artistic characteristics of the works.

The Rugao silk tapestry weaving technique, as an expanded item, was selected as part of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage items announced by the State Council.
At the museum, the works of well-known domestic painters such as Yuan Yunfu, Deng Lin and Luo Zhongli are displayed in the form of silk tapestries.
Rugao silk tapestries from the museum are collected by many countries. For example, two silk tapestries were sent by the Chinese central government to the United Nations.
