On Dec 14, the China Construction Industry Association announced the list of the 2021 winners of the Luban Prize, a top construction and engineering award for quality in China.

The Qidong Cultural Sports Center, and the Xinjiang Medical University new campus teaching building and graphic information center project, which were both built by Jiangsu Nantong No. 2 Construction Engineering (Group) Co Ltd (NT2J), made the list.

The Qidong Cultural Sports Center is the first Luban Prize-winning project in Qidong, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province.

Located at Jianghai South Road with a floorage of 79,570.97 square meters, the cultural sports center received investment from Qidong Xincheng Culture and Sports Services Co Ltd, and constructed by NT2J.

The center consists of northern and southern areas that are connected by underground passages and is a modern public cultural facility integrating art performances, conventions and exhibitions, sports and fitness, and educational trainings.

NT2J, based in Qidong, is a large-scale construction enterprise group integrating scientific research, construction and investment, and operates across industries and regions. At present, it has won 24 Luban Prizes, accounting for one fifth of Nantong's total.
