Yanda (Haimen) Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Co Ltd in Haimen, East China's Jiangsu province was awarded the Verification Statement of Green House Gas Emission by TÜV Rheinland on Dec 3, marking a milestone in its efforts to promote green development.
This year, Yanda invited TÜV Rheinland, an influential international third-party certification body, to conduct green house gas verification. Based on the carbon emission determined by TÜV Rheinland, Yanda can formulate a suitable annual emission reduction plan.
The company has since 2018 been focusing on energy conservation and emission reduction. It invests between 3 and 5 million yuan ($471,000-786,000) each year to carry out green transformation initiatives.
In terms of energy utilization, the company has established a distributed solar power station that can provide 1.5 million kilowatt hours of solar power every year. The heat treatment furnace is powered by natural gas to achieve pollution-free emission.
In addition, high energy consumption equipment has been phased out. For example, diesel forklifts have been replaced by electric ones.
On the same day, Yanda also signed an agreement with various enterprises to construct the second phase of a distributed solar station, which is expected to generate 5.4 million kWh of electricity annually. Half of the company's electricity will be provided by solar power after the second phase is completed.
