An exhibition on Chinese fairy tale paintings by Feng Jiannan is under way at Nantong Museum in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province and will conclude on Nov 28.

The exhibition features 72 paintings, 22 of which are being exhibited for the first time.

Born in Nantong, Feng is a talented painter whose picture books about Chinese fairy tales, including Nine-Colored Deer, Fairy Fish Carrying Qu Yuan, and Chinese Ruler Shen Nong Tastes Hundreds of Herbs, are popular among Chinese children.

Feng enjoys a good reputation both at home and abroad, with his works renowned for integrating the essence of traditional Chinese paintings, Dunhuang grotto murals, and folk New Year pictures with elements of western-style paintings.
