While many regions, including Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Gansu province, and Beijing, have brought the virus under control or are on track to achieving the goal, the COVID-19 outbreak situation in Heilongjiang, Hebei, Henan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, and Liaoning provinces, as well as Chongqing are still developing and requires close monitoring, according to Wu Liangyou, deputy director of the National Health Commission's disease prevention and control bureau.
China will continue to implement its existing COVID-19 control measures as they are science-based, effective, and necessary amid the raging pandemic, said Wu.
