During the 2021 Hainan International Culture & Creativity Week, which ran from Oct 15 to 20 in South China's Hainan province, the Nantong Urban Agricultural Park – located in Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province – was included in the rural revitalization map of China, and recognized as a model for innovative rural revitalization, according to the Nantong agriculture and rural affairs bureau.

Focusing on innovative development methods for rural areas, the map includes outstanding cases of rural revitalization throughout the country and is meant to provide solutions to problems in the rural revitalization process.

The Nantong Urban Agricultural Park, planned and built to high standards, aims to develop itself into a first-class urban agricultural park with a demonstration area for primary, secondary and tertiary industries, a farmland sightseeing area, a science popularization area for smart agriculture, and a culture and tourism area, in the Yangtze River Delta region.

With large areas of farmland, the park puts a strong focus on scientific and technological agriculture. It also develops agricultural tourism through farming culture.
