Twenty-four tons of frozen green soybeans produced in Rugao, Nantong were delivered to Shanghai Port on Oct 25 and will travel to France by sea.

The beans were part of the first batch of self-produced exports of Zhonggao Agricultural Products Supply Chain Co, according to Chen Baoxiang, general manager of the company.

"Professional processing can retain the taste and nutrients of vegetables to the maximum extent," said Tao Heqing, assistant of the company's general manager.

Tao said that frozen vegetables are popular in foreign countries and that they have been working to expand their overseas presence. The company is currently negotiating several deals with buyers from Japan, Canada and Australia.
