Persimmon picking activity to be held on Junshan Mountain

A persimmon picking activity will be held on Junshan Mountain in the Nantong Langshan National Forest Park from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Sept 20, according to an announcement by the park's official WeChat account.
Ripe persimmons have covered the branches of trees on the mountain, appearing like tiny orange lanterns.
Eating persimmons during autumn is a tradition in many regions across China. It is said that the fruit can help people resist the cold and protect their bones. In the countryside, people believe that their lips will crack if they don't eat persimmons during this period.
The activity is designed for children and their parents. Each family can pick 2.5 kilograms of persimmons.
