The 31st Nantong Chrysanthemum Expo will be held at Tangzha Park from late October to late November.

Chrysanthemum is the city flower of Nantong and the flower expo has been a local convention in the city held every autumn.

This year's event will highlight the theme of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, said Xiang Riqun, an official of the city's landscaping department.

The official said that this year's expo will be comprised of outdoor displays, supreme species displays, a flower arrangement art exhibition, and a flower competition for local residents, which will be held for the first time.

By the end of August, the city's landscaping department had sent 400 pots of chrysanthemum seedlings to local residents who are interested in planting the flowers. A total of 100 pots will be selected to be displayed at the exhibition in October.
