A fun painting activity to beautify outside parking barricades was held on Sept 4 in the Guanyinshan sub-district – under the jurisdiction of the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Chongchuan district – located in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province.

Some 20 families were invited to participate in the event.

Many barricades are distributed at the south end of Guoxue Road and the entrance of a residential area, to maintain order in vehicle parking. It was reported that through the creative activity, these unremarkable barricades have become a landmark of the area.

"It's worthwhile doing this because it not only beautifies the residential area, but implants the concepts of civilization, integrity and environmental protection in our minds," said parent Xu Jianqing, who participated in the activity.
