The revamped Beishi scenic area in Tangzha ancient town – located in the Chongchuan district of Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is getting ready to reopen to the public during the upcoming 2021 National Day holiday after a major renovation that is currently nearing completion.

Covering an area of nearly 40,000 square meters, the renewal project aims to renovate the facades of the buildings along the streets in the area, to enhance the streetscape and revitalize the neighborhood.

Boasting a quaint old-style alleyway, ancient architecture and a high-tech fashion light show – the area is said to now integrate modern and traditional design elements and is expected to become a must-see site for visitors.

At present, the area is fast attracting new merchants to locate their operations there who are engaged in intangible cultural heritage, time-honored brands and handicrafts – as well as local snacks outlets, music bars, bookstores and beverage shops – offering an incentive policy.
