Nantong became the first city in East China's Jiangsu province to be approved by the State Council, China's Cabinet, to offer its cross-province universal service on the national administrative service platform on July 12, local media outlets reported.
After in-depth surveys on people's demands, the city signed cooperation agreements with Quanzhou in East China's Fujian province and Changzhi in North China's Shanxi province in June to carry out cross-province administrative services.
The services refer to 106 items in Nantong and Quanzhou, as well as 96 items in Nantong and Changzhi, involving various aspects like business licenses, social security, medical insurance, and housing funds.
Nantong has also set up a "cross-province service window" at the offline administrative service center, which serves as a complement to the online services. The offline window mainly provides consultations, helps coordination among departments, collects application materials, and issues certificates.
According to officials of the city's administrative examination and approval bureau, Nantong is working to expand the services to Chongming and Fengxian districts in Shanghai to bring more convenience to people.
