The first Nantong youth employment festival was held at the Nantong Human Resources Market – located in Chongchuan district in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – on May 22.
The event featured over 4,200 jobs up for grabs, offered by companies engaged in such areas as equipment manufacturing, textiles and apparel, network information, new materials and biomedicines.
Jobs on offer included positions as administrators, accountants, designers, electrical engineers and marketing personnel. Nearly half the posts were open to college graduates or above.
Taking the opportunity, staff from the Chongchuan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau explained the new Plane Tree Talent Program released by the local government last month.
The program has 12 measures designed to attract top people, including a policy of "zero threshold to settle down" which makes it extremely easy and convenient for job seekers to come to Chongchuan.
The city also offers home purchase and rental subsidies and guarantees high-quality medical services. There are also living allowances provided for urgently needed professionals and financial support for business startups.
The event was jointly organized by the Nantong Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the Nantong Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Chongchuan district government.
