A cycling event was launched on May 9 in the county-level city of Qidong in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, to mark the centenary of the Communist Party of China, or CPC.

The event was sponsored by the Qidong Women's Federation and the city's Party history office and organized by the Qidong Cycling Association, and 100 families participated.

The event is meant to teach families more about the history of the CPC and the tenacious fighting spirit of revolutionary times.

The course, with a distance of 20 kilometers, featured three red sites, or famous relics of revolutionary times, each of which was equipped with commentators to explain the history of the Party.
