A Chinese-foreign cultural exchange activity was held at the painting academy of Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on May 10.
Nearly 20 expats from Russia, Spain, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Ukraine and other countries took part in the event, where they got up-close and personal with several aspects of traditional Chinese culture such as hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), calligraphy, tuanshan (round fans) and the guqin, or Chinese zither.
The event is a significant part of the May Wind cultural and art activities. Chongchuan district will take advantage of its distinctive cultural resources and gather local literary and artistic enthusiasts to present a heartier art and cultural feast for the general public as well as expats in Nantong.
