An exhibition revolving around the development of Nantong's mounting art over the past 30 years opened at the Nantong Museum in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 28.
On display are more than 50 works including paintings and calligraphy works, embroidery, paper cuttings, and tie dye works that involve traditional and modern mounting styles, as well as restoring techniques.
Mounting art boasts a long history in China, and has been an important part of the country's traditional culture.
The Nantong association of mounting artists was founded in 1990 and has produced many outstanding works and cultivated a number of high-caliber workers over the past three decades.
The association has mended more than 10,000 pieces of calligraphy and paintings and carried out mounting work for hundreds of major exhibitions.
Nearly 60 of its mounting works have won national and provincial awards, and its magazine Zhuangchi has become an important platform for its members to showcase their skills and exchange ideas.
