A spring jobs fair was held on March 20 by Nantong University – located in the Chongchuan district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – for students who are set to graduate in the current academic year.

The fair was one of a series of employment promotions jointly launched by the Jiangsu education and human resources and social security departments. Nantong University is one of four sub-venues of the province's employment promotions program.

In response to the provincial plan, Nantong University organized the fair and selected 45 companies based in Nantong region to participate in the event – including CP Group, Wenfeng Group, Zenith Steel Group and ZTT Group.

Over 2,500 posts were on offer in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, biotechnology, constructional engineering and economic management, among others.

To help with the current challenging employment conditions for graduates, Nantong University issued detailed plans in advance and distributed guides on employment and self-employment to the students.

In addition, the university's employment department and colleges actively contacted businesses, institutions and local talent markets – collecting employment information to provide job placement services for students.

Moreover, teachers and administrative staff actively reached out to alumni and companies, to provide more channels for employment and offer graduates more choice.
