In a bid to provide help both businesses and individuals, the administrative approval bureau in Qidong – a county-level city administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is further streamlining is administrative approval process.

It is reportedly continuing to deepen the so-called "1120" reform. This refers to the goal of completing business and real estate registration within a working day and completing approval of engineering projects within 20 working days – thus realizing the "1120" target set last year.

"The speed and efficiency of Qidong's administrative approval is worthy of its reputation," said the head of Qidong Shenya International Trade Co Ltd, who got his new business license after a half-day registration of the company on March 12.

Serving major and key projects in the city is also a focus of the Qidong administrative approval bureau. On Feb 20, Qidong Construction Group and Jiangsu Lyusi Port Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly establish Qidong Runyang New Material Industrial Park Development Co Ltd, with a registered capital of 500 million yuan ($76.82 million).

After receiving the application from the new company, the administrative approval bureau spent only one day processing its cooperation charter, business license, official seal, as well as opening an account for bank and tax registration – the fastest time yet for a major project in the city.

In addition, Qidong is also vigorously promoting handling key affairs online for residential areas – as well as streamlining procedures, materials and time, improving service quality and efficiency, to benefit more people.
