Members of the Communist Party of China at the administrative office of Shuihui Garden in Rugao, Nantong held a special celebration at the facility on March 6 for the 100th birthday of Shi Zhaoze, a Party member and former cadre at the office.

This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC. During the celebration, Party members including Shi reviewed the joining oath of the CPC and sang The Internationale.

Shi joined the Party 80 years ago and took part in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).

According to his granddaughter Shi Yi, he told many stories about the war in her childhood and has passed down his love of country and the Party to his offspring.

"He has poor eyesight and asks me to read newspapers for him every day, so that he can follow the country's development," said Shi Yi.

"The celebration showed our respect for Shi and offered a good opportunity for young Party members to learn from the old generation and stay true to the Party's original founding mission, firm up their faith and fight bravely," said Chen Xiangyun, secretary of the office's Party branch.
