An exhibition showcasing Nantong's development as one of the birth places of China's modern industry opened in the city's culture and art exhibition center on Jan 20. It will last for a week until Jan 27.
On display are 165 artworks, including 48 traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, watercolors and woodblock prints, 27 calligraphy works, as well as 90 photographic works, by 120 artists produced during a three-day field trip across the city.
The trip was organized by the city's publicity department and federation of literary and art circles, during which art workers visited Qidong, Haimen, and Rugao to witness the environmentally friendly development on the northern bank of the Yangtze River.
