The newly established 5G exhibition area in the Nantong Science & Technology Museum, located in Chongchuan district, Nantong, has been completed and will be officially open to the public on the forthcoming New Year's Day.

On Dec 26, a group of pupil guides from the museum paid a visit to the area in advance of its opening. A variety of novel equipment gave the children the feeling of a miraculous environment.

The area focuses on displaying the application scenes of 5G technologies in the fields of society, industry and livelihoods to better popularize cutting-edge science and technologies.

"With the advent of 5G technology, the seemingly distant life that once appeared in science fiction is coming," said Wang Lei, head of the Nantong Science & Technology Museum.

Visitors can experience underwater roaming and driving simulation through VR (virtual reality) + 5G technology, to have a deep understanding of the influence that 5G technology brings to people's lives.

The 5G exhibition area will only be open on weekends, holidays and festivals. Every day, only 24 visitors will be permitted to enter the area at 10am, 2pm and 3pm. Visitors are required to make real-name reservations and group tours are required to make reservations three days in advance.

Reservations are accessible via dialing the service hotline of the Nantong Science & Technology Museum (+86-513-83519581) or at the service counter on the first floor of the museum.

In the near future, the official WeChat account of Nantong Science & Technology Museum (ID: gh_26b367ec357e) will open a booking channel.
