Activities planned for New Year in Langshan

A variety of activities to welcome the New Year will be held at the Langshan National Forest Park in Nantong during the New Year holiday, according to the park's official WeChat account.

Don't miss the following activities:

1. Free couplets for visitors

Date: Jan 1, 2021

Venue: Square at the northern entrance to Langshan Mountain

Masters from Buddhist temples across the city and local calligraphers will be invited to the scenic area to write couplets and the Chinese character "fu", which means happiness, and offer them to visitors for free.

2. Free Chinese character "fu" and lottery

Date: Jan 1, 2021

Venue: Entrance to Jianshan Mountain

The first 15 visitors to Jianshan Mountain on Jan 1 will receive a piece of red paper featuring the Chinese character "fu". All visitors will also receive a lottery ticket when buying tickets to Jianshan Mountain or annual tickets to Langshan Mountain.

3. Making sachets

Time: 9:30 am on Jan 1, 2021

Venue: The tourist service center of Jianshan Mountain

Eight families can participate in a sachet-making activity to welcome the New Year.

4. Science education on meteorology

Time: 2:00 pm on Jan 1, 2021

Venue: The meteorological observatory of Junshan Mountain

Children are invited to act as weathermen and learn about the history of the observatory and its founder Zhang Jian.

5. Scientific education about birds

Time: 2:00 pm on Jan 2, 2021

Venue: The bird observatory in Junshan Mountain

Children are invited to visit the observatory to learn about birds commonly seen on the mountain and to search for birds themselves on the mountain.

6. New Year praying

Date: Jan 1 to 3, 2021

Venue: Chenglu Observatory in Junshan Mountain

The first 50 visitors each day will receive a free blessing card, on which they can write down their wish for the New Year.

7. Discounts at tea house

Date: Jan 1 to 3, 2021

Venue: Fusheng Tea House on Junshan Mountain

People who follow the official WeChat account of the Langshan National Forest Park (ntlsfjmsq) can enjoy a 20-percent discount at the Fusheng Tea House on Junshan Mountain during the New Year holiday.

8. Ancient musical performances

Time: 10: 00 am on Jan 2, 2021

Venue: Chongmen Zhuiyuan Square in Seyuan Garden

A dozen artists will be invited to perform ancient Chinese musical instruments.

9. Running events

Date: Jan 1, 2021

Venues: The Nantong Botanical Garden / the scenic belt along the Yangtze River

People are welcome to join in the running activities, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and embrace the New Year with full energy.
