In a bid to promote Yangtze River Delta (YRD) integration and leverage each other's strengths in educational resources, the education and sports bureaus of Qidong, a county-level city of Jiangsu province, and Jixi, a county of Anhui province, signed an agreement on education cooperation and exchange on Dec 11.

Since February 2019, the delegation from Jixi county has been visiting the Huilong, Zhegui and Baixing middle schools in Qidong for exchange and education experience.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out cooperation and exchange activities focusing on three aspects – faculty team construction, inter-school pairing and resource sharing.

Qidong will occasionally select and dispatch some outstanding teachers to Jixi to hold demonstration classes and conduct teaching seminars and special lectures. Principals, researchers and teachers from Jixi will have a at least two-weeks of learning by means of listening to and observing lectures, collective lesson preparation, and participation in school management to gain a comprehensive understanding of Qidong's normal education and advanced school-running concepts.

After negotiations some of the middle and primary schools and kindergartens of the two regions will establish partnerships to explore cooperation in school management reform, teaching and cultural construction.
