An exhibition featuring calligraphy works by Wu Xuchun opened at the Geyi Art Gallery in Nantong on Dec 8.
The exhibition, which will last until Dec 15, is organized by the School of Art Nantong University, the Nantong Calligraphers Association, Geyi Art Gallery and the Nantong Association for Young Calligraphers.
More than 300 calligraphy enthusiasts visited the exhibition on the opening day.
Wu graduated from Nanjing Normal University with a master's degree in art in 2005. He is currently an assistant professor at the School of Art Nantong University. His works have been on display at several national-level events.
This exhibition showcases the achievements Wu has made in calligraphy theory research, artistic creation, and education over the past few years.
The works feature several writing styles, such as kaishu (regular script), lishu (clerical script), and zhuanshu (seal script), reflecting Wu's solid artistic foundation.
"Calligraphy and education have a lot in common. Both are meant to spread culture and foster virtue," said Wu.
"I feel honored to be a teacher of calligraphy art, playing a part in promoting traditional Chinese culture," he added.
On the opening day, Wu also donated his work to the Geyi Art Gallery.
