The 19th Jiangsu Fishing Master Race kicked off on Nov 18 in Baidian township, Hai'an, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province. Over 60 contestants from all over the country participated in the race.

As an important part of the national fitness campaign, fishing has the dual characteristics of recreation and sporting competition, and has become one of China's most popular sports.

In recent years, relying on the Lixia River, Hai'an has been developing a cultural and tourism cluster area. The fishing race held in Hai'an this time provided a platform for fishermen to compete and exchange ideas about fishing. In addition, the event boosted the development of fitness and sports industries in the city, and promoted the "culture + sports + tourism" brand of Baidian township.
