A total of 58 watercolor paintings featuring natural landscapes are currently on display at Nantong city's cultural center.

The paintings were created by Gu Weidong, an art teacher at Tonghai Middle School, who hopes to express his love of nature in his works.

Most of the works depict mountains, rivers and real-life scenes. For example, The First Snow features glowing sunshine sparkling on snow, a scene Gu saw in December 2018.

"I was captured by the scenery on the way and immediately started painting in my car," said Gu, who likes bringing painting tools with him whenever he travels, so that he can paint whenever and wherever he is inspired.
