The first China Industrial Internet Security Summit and industrial internet security competition was held in Chongchuan district, Nantong, in East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 31.

Themed "New Infrastructure, New Security", the event invited experts and scholars in industrial cyber security production to explore and discuss countermeasures and suggestions for the challenges of industrial cyber security in the new digital era.

Liu Hao, Party secretary of Chongchuan district, said in a speech at the opening ceremony that a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is on the rise. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G and cloud computing bring many cyber security risks and challenges while changing industrial production and people's lifestyles. As policies and industrial systems improve, the cyber security industry experiences opportunities for a development boom.

Nantong, an economic center in the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), attracts attention with its accelerating construction of major infrastructure projects such as the new airport, the northern high-speed rail line along the Yangtze River and Tongzhou Bay.

The summit connected a booming industry with a booming city. Chongchuan, as the central urban area of Nantong, has the most concentrated essential productive factors and the highest urbanization level. Its comprehensive economic strengths rank top among the areas of the same category in the YRD region.

In recent years, the district has focused on boosting the development of the new generation of information technology industries, including IT application innovation, cyber security, the internet of vehicles and AI.

Through attracting IT enterprises to settle and be competitive in cyber security, Chongchuan has increased its influence and popularity, growing into a regional highland for cyber security industry development.
