Tourists are still flocking to the Zhou Ji Green Expo Garden despite of the end of the National Day holiday.
The reason? A new insectivorous plant exhibition.
An insectivorous plant refers to any type of plant which feeds on insects. Most of them live in a humid environment, such as rain forests, wetlands and swamps.
The exhibition, which has simulated the habitat of insectivorous plants, showcases nearly 100 kinds of such plants.
Located in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Zhou Ji Green Expo Garden is a national 4A scenic area that measures 320,000 square meters. It is home to 160,000 plants of 6,000 species, with flowers blooming all year round.
During this year's National Day holiday, the garden received on average 8,000 tourist visits per day, 2,000 more than during the Labor Day holiday. Most tourists came from surrounding cities such as Shanghai, Wuxi and Suzhou.
