Rugao woodcarving wins provincial award

A woodcarving work by Zhu Zhigang, an artist in Rugao, Nantong, won a gold award at the 11th "Yibo Cup" art and craft competition in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, on Sept 11.
The piece is 120 centimeters long, 35 cm tall, and 26 cm wide. It has a boxwood body and a red sandalwood bed and is themed on the "Belt and Road". It features a high-speed railway linking various landscapes across China.
Zhu said that he plans to create more works displaying the natural scenery and culture of countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
