Five souvenirs from Nantong – Jidesheng sachets, foldable fans made of Nantong blue calico, handmade double-side embroidery works, Sanxiangzhai bean curd and Xiting crackers made the recently-released list of the 60 best Jiangsu souvenirs.

The evaluation was carried out by the Jiangsu Consumer Council, the provincial center of intangible cultural heritage protection and the provincial association of time-honored brands, with a total of 644 products from 458 companies being considered.

Nantong is currently home to six time-honored brands at the national level, 16 at the provincial level and 24 at the municipal level. Of those, six are provincial intangible cultural heritage items and five are municipal intangible cultural heritage items.

Officials at the city's commerce bureau said that they will use this opportunity to maximize the value of the souvenirs and stimulate consumption.
