Construction of the China Rudong (International) Cold Chain Logistics Base, a wholesale market for seafood and a key project of Rudong and Nantong, recently got underway in Yangkou town of Rudong.

Located at the Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone and with investment of more than two billion yuan ($289 million), the project covers nearly 17 hectares and has a covered area of about 200,000 square meters.

After completion, the market will focus on the seafood wholesale business in multiple formats covering cold chain logistics, storage and processing, e-commerce, catering and entertainment. It aims to become a world-class marine products distribution center that is based in Rudong, serves East China, radiates across the whole nation and connects with the world.

The market is invested by Xinnonglihe (Rudong) Agricultural Products Market Development Co Ltd, a holding subsidiary of State-owned Xinnonglihe Holding Group Co Ltd.

Xinnonglihe has set up several large wholesale markets of agricultural products across the country and has formed an interconnected alliance with more than 100 similar markets.

The project is a pivot market set up by Xinnonglihe Group in China and an important measure for the upgrading of Rudong's seafood industrial chain.
