A summit forum on industrial foundation reconstruction, sponsored by the China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association, kicked off in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on Aug 14. Jiangsu Liyang New Material Co Ltd, based in Chongchuan district, was recognized at the summit as a national advanced unit in the textile industry for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
In the face of the severe challenges created by the pandemic, China's technical textiles industry has spared no effort to ensure production of face masks, medical protective clothing, and disinfection wipes as well as related raw and auxiliary materials, and has contributed significantly to the victory in the fight against the epidemic.
One of the honored units, Liyang New Material, is engaged in producing melt-blown mask filter materials and medical protective isolation materials, and was one of the first manufacturers of anti-epidemic key supplies appointed by the State Council.
"Since the epidemic outbreak, we put all our capacity into producing the melt-blown materials for masks," You Xiangyin, chairman of Liyang New Material said. "Priority in goods supply and prices was given to the central and western regions with incomplete industrial structure."
Production in the company was resumed rapidly after the epidemic outbreak. Liyang has provided about 30 tons of melt-blown materials to areas such as the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Sichuan province and Chongqing, which can be used to produce nearly 30 million face masks.
