As the nighttime economy continues to grow, Tangzha town sub-district in Chongchuan district is launching a series of night leisure activities while maintaining epidemic prevention and control.
The Xiyang Bridge night market, which opened at the end of June, is a key pilot for the roadside vendor economy in Chongchuan district, Nantong. At present, the market has 12 catering booths set up in containers and more than 60 stalls.
In the southeast of Tangzha ancient town, Beidajie Street is also bustling at night. In June, Tangzha town sub-district hosted activities themed "See Beidajie Street at night". Events on intangible cultural heritage, a creative bazaar, livestreaming and fitness take turns to appear, enriching night life in Nantong.
"I have never seen such a fashionable and interesting Tangzha before," said a Tangzha local surnamed Zhao. "As more and more young people gather here, the ancient town radiates vitality."
According to statistics, during the events, the total passenger flow in Beidajie Street business district exceeds 2 million, up 25 percent year-on-year. The total consumption has reached 55.4 million yuan ($8 million), a year-on-year rise of 15 percent.
The Xiyang Bridge container night market will continue for one more month. Leisure activities such as night running and graffiti will be promoted.
