The virtual windows for Shanghai-Qidong government affairs services were officially opened to the public on June 20. The windows are an innovative measure jointly launched by the Qidong administrative approval bureau and the Shanghai liaison office.

The main service targets include Qidong's enterprises as well as various talents who settle in Shanghai or come from Shanghai and settle in Qidong. Services concerning people's livelihoods, enterprises, projects, taxes and commissions are provided through the virtual windows. A total of 143 items can be dealt with via 16 channels, realizing information interconnection of government affairs between Shanghai and Qidong.

The virtual windows provide both online and offline services. Qidong citizens in Shanghai can have access to precise policy consultations through WeChat or phone calls; people can apply for non-contact transactions through channels such as the "access to Yangtze River Delta via one website" service and the Jiangsu government affairs service website.

People can contact the government affairs service agency center to obtain whole-process high-quality commission services; and they can contact the person-in-charge of the window to courier materials through EMS if they are unable to submit materials on site.

The Qidong government affairs service center has set up a mobile transaction point in Shanghai that handles affairs and provides services on a door-to-door basis as needed.

The establishment of the virtual windows effectively relieves citizens from having to rush about between the two cities. An employee from Nantong No 2 Construction Engineering Group, surnamed Jin, successfully printed his social security policy through the virtual window on June 22, saving a lot of time.
