Full refunds available for cancelled Beijing trips
With Beijing upgrading its COVID-19 emergency response from Level III to II on June 16, the national railway authority and several airlines have taken measures to allow passengers who have booked trips to and from Beijing to receive full ticket refunds.
According to an official notice, passengers who have bought train tickets to or from Beijing from June 16 onward are eligible for full refunds starting on June 17. The policy is also applicable for travel insurance that passengers have bought with their tickets.
Air China has said that full refunds will be available for bookings of flights – those taking place between June 16 and 30 – that were made before June 17.
Hainan Airlines said that full refunds will be available for bookings of flights – those taking place between June 14 and 30 – that were made before June 16.
China Eastern Airlines stated that its full refund policy is only applicable to flights departing Beijing.
For China Southern Airlines customers, ticket cancellation fees for flights – those taking place between June 14 and 30 – will be waived as long as the booking was made before June 14.
