Nearly 100 members of the Qidong volunteer association on environmental protection participated in a bike-riding activity in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, on May 31, World No Tobacco Day, in order to call for more efforts to boost environmental protection and civility.

The activity was jointly hosted by Qidong's civilization office, the committee of the Communist Youth League, the health commission, the patriotic health campaign committee, and the volunteer association on environmental protection.

Volunteers rode around Diehu Lake Park and picked up garbage along the way. They sorted the garbage into different bins and tried to persuade the public to stop smoking.

This year's World No Tobacco Day is aimed at preventing teenagers from using tobacco, while the activity seeks to encourage the public not to smoke or litter.
