Folk art exhibition shows support for battle against epidemic
Banyao whistling kites are on display at the exhibition in Nantong on May 26. One of the kites was donated by Yao Jianqiang, vice-chairman of the city's kite association. The kite was produced entirely by hand and features 66 whistles. The number "six" in Chinese culture is commonly associated with the idea of things going smoothly. [Photo/ntjoy.com]
Three jade carvings donated by Feng Ya, founder of the city's research center for jade carving art, are currently on display. The one on the left features the Chinese characters "承诺" (promise). The middle one depicts a Guanyin Buddha, symbolizing fortune and safety. The right one features a dragon, which symbolizes strength and wisdom in Chinese culture. [Photo/ntjoy.com]
