A live recruitment fair was hosted online by the bureau of human resources in Chongchuan district, Nantong, on May 20. It was the first of its kind in the district, and attracted 83,000 viewers, with more than 3,000 jobseekers submitting their resumes.

Managers of human resources from eight local enterprises attended the livestream and provided nearly 300 job opportunities. The jobseekers could communicate with the managers online and send resumes to the enterprises they liked the look of.

Liu Weijie, general manager of Jiangsu Zhongqi Environmental Technology Co, said that since the outbreak of COVID-19, a number of similar but non-local enterprises have left the local market, which has led to a rapid increase in orders and the urgent need for workers at this local enterprise.

According to Liu, their monthly salaries can reach about 10,000 yuan ($1,408) to 15,000 yuan for a chief environmental consultant and about 6,000 yuan to 15,000 yuan for an environmental consultant and technician.

Several job seekers also left messages online and praised the live recruitment fair, as various job opportunities were offered in an efficient manner. These included roles in advanced manufacturing, environmental technology, city construction, and cultural and sport education.

The district has held 39 recruitment fairs since the beginning of this year and more than 11,000 jobs have been offered by 748 local enterprises, helping over 3,300 people find jobs.
