China Abacus Museum to reopen

The China Abacus Museum in Nantong, Jiangsu province will reopen to the public on International Museum Day on May 18, according to local media.

The museum will be open from 9:00 to 17:00, and visitors will not be allowed to enter after 16:30. It will be closed every Monday except during public holidays.The museum, located near the northern bank of the Haohe River in Chongchuan district, is the world's largest abacus museum.

It covers an area of two hectares and is divided into three sections: an abacus exhibition hall, an academic report hall, and an abacus training center for children. It houses more than 10,000 abacuses and historical records, among which many have immense historical and cultural value.

To ensure safety amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, the museum will only accept solo visitors for the time being. People are required to verify their identity and health and wear face masks before entering.

Anyone with an abnormal temperature, cough, or difficulty in breathing will not be allowed to enter. Gatherings are also forbidden at the museum.For more information, please call 0513 85053102.
