Rudong county in Nantong has been working to expand 5G coverage. To date, more than 60 5G base stations have been set up, covering major transportation hubs, scenic spots and business areas in the county.

In July 2019, a 5G base station was established at Yangkou port, the first of its kind in Rudong county and also in the coastal area of Jiangsu province. The network boasts a maximum download speed of more than 1,200 mbps and a maximum upload speed of 135 mbps.

Previously, video conferences held at the port would receive interference from the offshore atmospheric duct, but with the help of 5G, this is no longer an issue, and relying on the portable terminals, the conferences can be hosted anywhere in the port.

5G has also provided a pleasant experience for visitors at the 20-hectare aqua park in the county. A regular visitor said that "5G technology allows us to square dance in the park and give livestreams on Tik Tok, a popular short-video platform, at the same time."

In addition, 5G has been available at Rudong Bus Station since March 2020, offering passengers high-speed and smooth network services. A real-time test at the station showed that the maximum download speed was over 1 gbps.
