Chongchuan restores booming economy during holiday
A consumption spree hit Chongchuan district, Nantong, during the May Day holiday, boosting local economic recovery after the disruption caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Commercial complexes in the district received a growing number of consumers during the holiday, as the coronavirus outbreak subsides in the area. Local stores put forward a series of promotion activities to stimulate consumption.
Goods were in large supply in supermarkets around the district, such as RT-Mart and Auchan. Big discounts were offered on snacks, wines, beverages and daily necessities.
The local government accelerated the goods supply and launched safety inspections before the holiday, in an effort to ensure security when shopping and the quality of commodities.
In addition, almost all the restaurants and snack bars in the district had resumed operations and adopted strict protective measures. Dining out has regained popularity among local residents. People are encouraged to use serving chopsticks and spoons when dining with others.
