The 15th May Wind Literature and Art Festival was launched in Nantong, Jiangsu province, May 6. A total of 31 activities will be held across the city until early June.
The festival, a signature cultural event in Nantong, has gained increasing popularity among locals with more than 500 colorful activities having been held since it was initiated in 2006.
This year's event will be themed on the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak. Dozens of art and literary associations around the city will cooperate to organize an array of cultural performances, exhibitions, seminars and free movies.
During the launch ceremony, an exhibition featuring the epidemic battle also opened to the public. It will run until May 16 with 120 fine art, calligraphy and photography works on display.
The works were all created by native artists and will later be donated to a local museum, which was set up to commemorate the battle against the virus.
