A fine art and calligraphy exhibition focusing on the Yangtze River Delta region opened at the cultural center of Rudong county, Nantong on April 13 and will run until April 28.
The event was hosted by an alliance of urban cultural centers in the Yangtze River Delta region and organized by Pudong district, Shanghai, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, Nantong, Jiangsu province, and Ma'anshan, Anhui province.
The exhibition features 80 fine art works and 40 calligraphy works created by artists from the aforementioned four areas. An online presentation has also been launched on the WeChat account of Rudong's cultural center, allowing art enthusiasts to admire the works remotely without having to visit in person.
Local media reported that the Yangtze River Delta is one of the most energetic, open and innovative regions in China. The alliance was founded in July 2019 in response to the country's strategy to integrate development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
With its 139 members, the alliance aims to provide a service platform for cultural and talent exchange in the region, playing a positive role in promoting the region's cultural development.
The exhibition was the first step the alliance has taken to integrate and share cultural resources in the region. Rudong was the event's third stop, following Jiaxing and Hangzhou. The works will later be displayed in Pudong and Ma'anshan.
