First Chinese rose exhibition to open in Nantong

The first Chinese rose exhibition will be held at the Nantong Botanical Garden in the city's Five Mountain scenic area from April 15 to June 27, according to a notice recently released by the area's operator.

The exhibition will be the largest ever held in the Yangtze River Delta region in terms of area. A total of 300,000 Chinese roses, 60,000 peonies and 50,000 bougainvillea will be on display, including a number of rare species.

The ticket price will be 20 yuan ($2.83) per person from Monday to Friday, and 30 yuan per person on Saturday, Sunday, during the May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, and during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 25 to 27.

A special ticket for the flower fair will also be offered, which costs 60 yuan per person and will be valid throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Tourists aged 7 to 18, 60 to 65, and undergraduates will receive a 50 percent discount with valid certificates.

Free admission will be offered to children under six years old, seniors aged above 65, people with disabilities, servicemen, retired military cadres, people who have won national awards for donating blood and stem cells, as well as medical workers from across the country.

The scenic area also noted that the botanical garden would be closed from April 7 to 14 in preparation of the flower fair.
